15 June 07

We haven’t started shooting tonight, but there have already been several emails exchanged between the cast and crew. I feel it’s appropriate to share them with you here.

“On behalf of all of the (apparently heavy drinking) Louisianaians, I would like to thank all of you locals for making this shoot so pleasurable. We crossed the country only knowing that we love Patrick and were willing to work hard for him. I hope we have exceeded your expectations of us as we worked and performed on the film. The goal is nothing more than to make the best film possible with what we are given. All of you have been extremely hospitable and wonderful host. I know I speak for all of us when I say we leave Tucson sooner than we wish and we will miss all of you a great deal. Thanks for an amazing two weeks.

Scott Waldrop and the LA/TN crew.”

“Dear Scott, Ken, Carol Anne, and Hilary:
In case it is hectic tonight, I want to say now that it was such a pleasure to have you in Tucson! You way exceeded my expectations. I am so impressed with your energy, resourcefulness, attitude, and work ethic. Hope our paths cross again and perhaps we can work together again! I’m sure I’ll see you at the premiere screening!

See you later tonight,
Best,
Vicky Westover”

“To the members of the LA/TN crew and Scott,

On behalf of the Arizona contingent, I will take the liberty of expressing to you the incredible joy and pleasure of working with such a dedicated and talent group that would be willing to come all the way to Tucson in June! We have come to understand the incredible loyalty that Patrick has to you all (y’all?) and how you have shown such incredible dedication, talent, and sheer effort in this venture. The one thing we all certainly share is a deep love for the making of movies, and the wish to create something that shares a bit of ourselves with our audience. It is already a success. The rest will only be icing on the cake. Such wonderful moments as this are few and far between. Here is to making more of these moments happen, and that we can keep this going into another project (Red 72?). I look forward to seeing you on set, and at the Shanty tonight.

Nathan Ginn – Shane”
