Patrick returned my phone call this afternoon. I was anxious to hear how things have been going in the post world. Apparently, the entire film is being restructured. It’s going to open on Josh Marcantel staking out the McLane woman’s house, Hilary inside, back to Josh eating a burrito and then the gunshot. The title sequence will run next and then into the narrative. He’s decided the new structure needs a few more shots to tie up some loose ends, but all in all the coverage will work. He’s also decided to keep the feature in color rather than the intended black and white. I’m pretty happy about that. I think it will hold up, shouldn’t look too videoish. Right now, Patrick and Jack are both cutting the film. Patrick is trimming up the front half while Jack is assembling the end under the new structure. Andy is going back to Tucson at the end of August to work on the fine cut. Patrick also mentioned that he’s contacted the Canfield boys (who worked on Mercy) about doing our sound design again. It wouldn’t hurt my feelings to see a DVD sometime next week. I get more and more anxious everytime Patrick talks about the progress.
